Best Location for Family Photos in Haverhill, Massachusetts - Ease of access Okay, so this park isn’t exactly right off of the highway. A 10 minute drive from exit 109B off of 495 and you are there. An added bonus? You’ll pass a Dunks along the way and can treat yourself to either a pre- or post- shoot iced coffee (and maybe a donut to bribe the kids with?). However, once you make it to the park it’s an absolute breeze to access. There is plenty of parking at the park entrance as well as additional lots up by the castle (oh yes, there is a castle). Also, in the summer time there is a bathroom and water fountain available for public use. In addition there is a small playground set if your littles need to burn off some steam. I think my favorite accessibility feature of all is how stroller/wheelchair friendly photographing at this location is. The trails leading away from the parking area are all relatively flat, hard packed dirt. Although they are occasionally prone to ruts from rain washout they are usually very easy to get a stroller down. The castle area has a flat, grassy lawn feet away from the parking area as well. Like, 700-acres huge. But we only need to explore a teeny tiny fraction of that to have the park all to ourselves for a photoshoot. There are plenty of small fields, hidden trails, and scenic lakeshore spots to tuck away in for a distraction free backdrop. But let’s recap anyways, just for fun. When you arrive at the park you are met with a grassy lawn in front of Kenoza lake complete with benches, a water fountain feature, and a playground. Within three minutes of the parking lot you can find yourself in an open field with the woods behind you, on a trail with tree foliage hanging overhead, or standing along the lakeshore. Drive up to the castle parking lot and you have opened yourself up to even more options. Best Location for Family Photos in Burlington, Massachusetts - Ease of access The entrance to the park is located within five minutes of I-95, making it easy to access for families coming from both the north and south. Being within a 3 minute drive of the Burlington Mall also means that bathrooms and emergency wardrobe changes are close by. Finally, the parking lot of the park is within an easy walking distance to the first photo-op location. The trails are also relatively flat meaning that a stroller can be brought along if needed. The family that I was working with had a ten month old, a two year old, and three older children. In some locations this can mean waiting for a family to finish before you are able to start. However, with 216 acres available- we didn’t have to wait at all. In total we probably walked about 10-15 minutes around the park and with just that little bit of venturing we were able to find spots where there were no photographers, no other park goers, and beautiful backgrounds. Having plenty of space also gave the kids more to explore. Keeping them from getting bored or feeling boxed in. Beyond the small little area that we explored there are also wood board paths through wetlands with cattails growing tall on either side, wooded trails, and wildflowers. In the section that we stayed in we were able to find a large open field, a trail with tall grasses growing up alongside it, and small clearing tucked in among the growth. The wooded areas in the distance also worked in our favor by creating a change in scenery depending on which direction the family was facing.
